Rattray Community Garden

Rattray Community Garden has been created in the walled garden of Mount Ericht House off Balmoral Road, Rattray. The volunteers are a very active group, who, over the last year have turned waste-ground into a productive vegetable garden with beautiful flowers and fruit trees.

The garden area is welcoming, relaxing and ecologically friendly. It offers the opportunity for individual residents and local groups to enjoy garden activities together, supporting their health and wellbeing, reducing social isolation, developing gardening skills, and observing wildlife.

For supporters who don't wish to garden then we have also set up Friends of Rattray Community Garden scheme. This provides a regular newsletter and garden visits. Please contact us for more information.

This garden is another fantastic community scheme initiated by Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust. The land is part of what  was the walled garden for Mount Ericht House off Balmoral Road, Rattray. It was purchased for the town in 2021 thanks to support from the Scottish Land Fund.

The old garden had already been a home for award-winning environmental group Blairgowrie and Rattray in Bloom for a number of years, and, when the opportunity came up to buy the site, it was secured as a community asset with support from Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust.
